How do I adjust proceeds for Dell/EMC merger?

For Dell/EMC merger, there is an adjustment to proceeds from the sale of the EMC stock. The adjustment appears to the same as the amount allocated as the cost basis for the shares in the new stock (Dell Technologies). What is the best way to enter this?
