I may have searched with the wrong terminology.
I would like to know what happens to the history if you close an investment that has zero shares left in the portfolio. Does that impact reporting etc.?

Hi John,
Yes, closing an investment that you no longer own (but used to) will impact the portfolio level calculations. Instead of closing, you should 'hide' it if you don't want it explicitly shown in graphs/reports anymore, but still want it included in your historical portfolio calculations. For more on how to hide investments, please read: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq_hide_sold.php
Mark, a follow-up question if I may.
What do you recommend doing for an investment that you sold and then re-purchased at a later date? If I bought company X, for example, sold at a gain and am now repurchasing at lower prices is the correct course of action to use the one "Investment" in Fund Manager or should I close the original and create a new one? Based on the above, it would seem that I should use the same "Investment."
Hello inept,
Yes, you are right. You would want to just record a new purchase transaction in your existing investment.
