When I record dividends, do I input gross or net received?

Hi daviedave,

What exactly happened with the dividend, that you didn't receive all of it?
Thanks,
Mark

No I received it, but I'm just wondering what is the best way to record it so charts for growth, returns, yield etc are accurate? and tax reporting?

Hi daviedave,

My question is why do you have a difference between "net" and "gross" dividend values? If a stock paid you $X for a dividend, normally you receive all $X of it, and you record it for $X. There shouldn't be a difference between what was paid, and what you received, unless maybe the broker is withholding taxes or something?
Thanks,
Mark
