Transfer dates

I have asked in the past, but can you remind me when a transfer is done, does it assume the end of the date or the beginning of the date?

As a follow-up question,

If I want to transfer a security from one sub-portfolio to another sub-portfolio at the start of the year, AND have the security transfers be INCLUDED in the performance from the beginning of the year, would do this as of Dec 31st or Jan 1st? For instance, if I want to include in my 2017 performance, would the transfer be done as 12/31 or 1/1?

Hi flight,

When you enter a transfer date, that is the date the shares are transferred. There is only one date, so there is no beginning/ending, it is just transferred on that date.

Reports are inclusive of activity on their ending dates. So, if you run a report from 1/1/17-12/31/17 anything that happens on 1/1 or 12/31 is included in that report.

Does that imply that I should do the transfer on the day before, 12/31, so I can get recognize the full period starting at the beginning of the year?

meaning, I want the 1st day or business day to be included in the performance.

Yes, if you only want the performance of the investment (and not the transfer itself), record it on 12/31.
