I am a new personal user. When I was evaluating, I had Fund Manager set up on my C: drive and downloaded Interactive Broker files. Within IB I trade USD, EUR, GBP, JPY equities. I found that the Quicken format file provided by IB was not set up correctly for Fund Manager (currency translation issues), and used Money instead. Then the transactions in the files read in correctly in currency. So far so good.
Today I was guided to the portable/Cloud installation, and implemented that. After I did this I noticed that my JPY positions were clearly reflecting prices in EUR (my base currency) and JPY translation was at 1 to 1. I am not sure when or how this happened but it is a mystery to me. I checked one transaction in the ofx file, and the JPY/EUR rate implicit in the new version of the transaction I looked at is the price attributed on 19/10/17 to the currency pair (0.0074904), not the exchange rate quoted in the ofx file (0.0074776). So it looks as though the transactions had the FX rates in Fund Manager applied to them at some stage.
Of course I can load all the transactions again, but before I do so would like to know whether I may have set some option incorrectly, or whether this may be a one-off due to the move to portable so will not recur.
If I can/should load the transactions again, is there an easy way to delete the transactions without removing the investments for a portfolio?
