Editing opening balance

I manually entered an opening balance on an investment a few years ago. I'm now trying to create capital gains reports and when I look at bank's gain/loss I see my opening balance needs to be corrected.

I've tried changing the total value but it doesn't change the share cost nor does it keep the change after entering OK.

How do I go about changing the total value without affecting the share cost?

Hi larryw,

Your cost can be edited by editing your transactions. The market value is adjusted by either adjusting the shares owned (via transactions) or the market price. Use the Data Register. For transactions, set the Data Type to "All Transactions". For market prices, set it to "Prices".
