Minor Transaction Update strangeness

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby dellwo » Mon Jul 24, 2023 4:42 pm

So, I do ctrl-I then ctrl-J for past week.
About a penny difference... typical.

Then I do F8 for past week.
No transactions but total jumps ~$100.

Ctrl-J ... back to normal. F8 ~$100 off. Repeatably.

Didn't think F8 would change prices... esp. if no transactions.

Hi dellwo

I’m on vacation for the next 2 weeks and not in front of a computer. I don’t recall what commands go with all those keyboard shortcuts?

If the value is changing then either the number of shares or the price is changing.
Thanks,
Mark

Enjoy vacation.

F8 updates transactions. There are none.
Even gives offset after repeating several times.

ctrl-J updates historical prices. Brings it back to normal each time.

Just letting you know.

Hi Joe,

Thanks.

When you retrieve transactions you are also updating prices, as reported by your broker. This happens even if there are no new transactions. If you “Finish” the retrieval it updates prices. Look in the Data Register under “Prices” to see what prices are recorded.
Thanks,
Mark
