Transaction Buy or Sell Fee - how to enter manually

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Bsrr » Thu Oct 26, 2023 4:00 pm

If I choose the B/S Icon/Choice ie Buy or Sell there is no box that allows me to enter any fee associated with a Buy or Sell transaction.

I can see "fees" in certain reports for transactions that have been imported automatically (and somehow the fee is being recorded in the buy or sell imported transaction).

I almost afraid to ask as it might be something simple that I am missing (I am a newer FM user too) but can you advise how can I get a Fee entered into a manually entered Buy or Sell transaction? Thanks.

Hi Bsrr,

There is an investment level property that controls how you enter transactions. This option defaults based off the investment type. You can change it by right mouse clicking on an investment, and choosing "Properties... / Other / Transaction Entry Preference" and choosing "Commission Fees".

For example, stock type investments default to this, but no-load mutual funds and cash default to "No Fees", which it sounds like is what you have it set to now somehow.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you! I don't think I would have ever found that option!
