Brokerage In Kind Move

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby gmow » Thu Feb 01, 2024 8:28 am

Hi Mark, reading the history(msg board) of moving investments from brokerages but just want to confirm the best and latest method.

Brokerage_A > Brokerage_B

Unique investments, drag and drop(Don't need to maintain historic performance etc in Brokerage_A)

Duplicate Investments, Copy transactions from Brokerage_A and Paste in Brokerage_B

I've read about the transfer function and am not sure it is applicable.

Hi gmow,

Yes, that method will work. You can also drag/drop duplicate investments. You don't have to move their transactions from one investment to another. You will end up with 2 investments for the same symbol, but that is allowed. If you prefer for cleanliness purposes, you could merge the 2 investments together. We do have a tutorial on merging investments.
Thanks,
Mark

Just be aware of copying and pasting stk splits as they can duplicate them.
