How to manage transfers from one Brokerage firm to another

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Could you please tell me how to manage transfers from one Brokerage firm to another so that the original information regarding dates of purchase, prices paid etc are retained and will be available when reconciling FM data with the new brokerage firm?

Hi heartky,

If you moved your whole account, the easiest thing to do is just rename your sub-portfolio, and change the account number.

If you only moved a few securities, you can either just move those investments from the old to new broker's sub-portfolio, or you can do a "Transfer Between" if you wish to retain both the old investment in the old broker's account, and create a new investment in the new broker's account.

When you use the Transfer Between wizard all your cost basis information is transferred, and you end up with 2 investments, the original one, plus a new one.
Thanks,
Mark
