Hi sam,
Split transactions are effective as of the date of the split. Do you have the split transaction recorded? Can you see it in the Data Register under the "Splits" data type? If you have the split recorded, where are you looking that it isn't taking effect? Also, note there is a "View / Split Adjusted" option.

If you have the same security in multiple sub-portfolios, and they are each their own investment file, then you need to record the split in each investment. Splits are not global, they are specific to the investment that they are recorded in. You can see if a split is recorded in a particular investment by going to the Data Register and setting the Data Type to "Splits". If you are using the Advisor version you can record a split for all investments with the same symbol using "Edit / Symbol List...".
