Value of Sold Investment

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

The portfolio value reports shows a value for a stock that was sold many months ago. What are the possible causes of this error?

Hi DGreenfield,

This means that somehow you own shares in that investment for the date of the report. Check the date of the report, and then go look at your recorded transactions for that investment. The number of shares you own on any date is determined by all the recorded transactions up to that point.

To check your transactions, you can either use an "Investment Transactions" report, and set it to only display for that one investment, or you can use the Data Register (Edit / All Data...) and set the "Data Type" in the upper/right of that dialog to "Investments (all)". This will show all the transactions that affect how many shares you own. From within the Data Register you can add/edit/delete any of your transactions to correct anything that is wrong.
