Could someone help me, please?
What server should I use to track the S&P500 Total Return (TR) prices? I am using Yahoo for everything I hold but it doesn't have the TR prices.

Hi lvs,
Are you just looking for the S&P 500 Index? If so, use the symbol: ^GSPC to retrieve this on Yahoo. I'm not sure what "Total Return" means. You can see the symbols for all the available indices on Yahoo by going here: http://finance.yahoo.com/indices?e=sp
Hello Mark,
Here's the link to the S&P500: http://tinyurl.com/5gjg3l . The one that I am intersted in is the "TR", right below the "regular" S&P500.
Hi lvs,
I see... You'll have to see if you can find this on any of our supported quote servers. I'm not familiar with that quote, so cannot tell you specifically where to look. For links to all of our supported quote servers, see: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/intrtv.html You probably know this already, but here are some tips on assigning the symbol/quote server: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq_ ... ailure.php
Hi,
In case anyone is looking for this. The Total Return version of an index is one that includes the dividends, making it somewhat more comparable to an actual portfolio of stocks. The symbol for the S&P500 from Yahoo is ^PXTY , however it may not have historical data. From Bloomberg it's SPXT:IND , and there is ample historical data.
