Scottrade TR import issue

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby elliots » Mon Jul 02, 2012 2:17 pm

Mark,

Had a minor mutual fund name change (YACKX) (same ticker symbol, different CUSIP) import from Scottrade as a Sell and a Buy and a new investment was created. I'm assuming this will affect basis and tax reporting. Do we need the new investment --would things be simpler to change the CUSIP of the old investment or should we keep both? You might want to change the import routine (if you'd like I can send you the download file).

Hi Elliot,

Yes, it would be simpler to just change the CUSIP of the existing investment. You can then close the new investment that was created. I suspect it came down from Scottrade as a buy and sell, so that is how Fund Manager created it, but I can take a look if you can email me the download file.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

Sorry for the delay; been out of town. I've cleaned up the database. I'll email the data file -- send me your email address.
