retrieving qoutes of preferred stocks

I am unable to retrieve quotes for Rait Fin. PFD and MFA PFD. I have checked yahoo and the symbols that work in Yahoo.com are MFA-PA and RAS-PA, but if I use these in investment properties they retrieve quotes for RAS and MFA, not the preferred. I have checked investment properties and Yahoo is selected for quotes.
Hi jfscullion,
I just test retrieved MFA-PA and it correctly updated the price as 26.12, which is the same as being reported on Yahoo. Did you set the "Symbol" property to MFA-PA? The symbol is what is used for retrieving prices, not the name or any other field. Please also take a look at the "Internet Retrieve" tab in the Investment Properties dialog to make sure you have retrieving enabled, and are using the expected quote server. Please also make sure you have quote module 429, which is the latest. See "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." for this.
Mark, thanks for the quick response. Yes, I see now that the latest price is being updated correctly; don't know what I was seeing before; but the historical retrieval doesn't seem to work. I have Yahoo and Yahoo Historical set correctly, and latest retrieval version 429. When I retrieve historical on another stock it works correctly, but not on these two preferred stocks. All the historical prices seem to be for RAS not RAS-PA and MFA not MFA-PA.
Joe
Hi Joe,
Yahoo doesn't have historical quotes for MFA-PA. If you look up the symbol on Yahoo's website, and click "Historical Prices" on the left menu you'll see it says it doesn't offer these. It shouldn't be updating any prices for this symbol in this case. Maybe you previously retrieved MFA historical quotes for this investment somehow? You can delete all the pricing out of the investment, and just start tracking it from now.
Try a different quote server for that security, such as Google Historical. Change the internet retrieve properties of that security to default to Google servers so it updates automatically when you retrieve prices. Just make sure you use the symbol that Google's server uses. (Had this issue with STAG preferred.)
