Import file from Options House

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby robd » Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:41 pm

As far as I know, Options House does not have a server to enable importing of their transactions directly. The only thing I have found is the export of account activity which creates a CSV file in a format that takes a lot of doctoring to get it to where it can be imported using the generic file import function.

By the time I doctor the CSV file and specify the proper format string so that it will import, I could probably enter all of my transactions manually. I only have one year's worth but it would still take a very long time. Have I just not found the right thing? Does anyone know of any better way to import transactions from Options House?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

I'm not familiar with the specifics of Options House, but if they offer any sort of standardized download format, like OFX or QIF those are usually easier to import than CSV. Sometimes brokers call these OFX/QIF formats by another name, like Quicken or Money formatted files. If your only download option is CSV, then you would need to either use the generic import, or manually enter your transactions.
Thanks,
Mark
