Call symbols

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby davidl » Mon May 06, 2013 4:50 pm

I am having a problem entering a call symbol. I read Mark's 9/30/10 post and when I looked up the SPY Dec. 15 175 strike I found SPY151219c00175000. I was unable to enter anything more than "SPY" in the symbol box.
What do you think I am doing incorrectly?
My Mistake! I thought I had the number lock on. Operator Error. Problem Solved.

Hi davidl,

Which dialog box are you in when you're entering this symbol? You should be able to enter any symbol you want in either the New Investment dialog, or in the Investment Properties... dialog. If you already have the investment created, use the "Investment Properties" dialog to adjust the symbol. You also want to make sure the property under "Internet Retrieve" is set to retrieve from "Yahoo (Options)".
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, thanks for the quick reply. It was operator error; I thought I had the number lock on but I did not. My Mistake. And I now made sure I pointed to Yahoo (options) as you suggested.
