deleting a transaction from default cash account

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby michael » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:37 pm

Hi Mark,

Happily, after looking over some posts on the message board I stumbled upon the "show all" check box which allows me to assign any investment as my default cash account. I didn't realize this was possible. I thought the the default cash account had to be in the same subportfolio as the other investments. This is great. Is this a new feature or have I just missed it all this time?

Also, I noticed that if I record a distribution from an investment (held in a subportfolio with an assigned default cash account) and then I subsequently delete that distribution, the distribution from the investment and the related "buy" recorded in the default cash account are BOTH deleted.

However, if instead I delete the "buy" from the cash default account, the associated distribution is not also automatically deleted? Is this correct?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

The "Show All" option for a default cash account is not a new feature. It has always been there. Yes, it allows you to choose a default cash account from any sub-portfolio.

Your observations on how deleting transactions works is correct, and working as intended.
Thanks,
Mark
