Transaction update vs Price update

Hi,

I've noticed that *some* investments don't register the distributions when I update the account from the investment institution, but the default cash acct does register the transaction, while others just work fine registring in both places the distributions.
Most of the investments were created manually.

It seems that in the investments with problems, CUSIP and SYMBOL are different, since I use the symbol to match FINRA symbols, while those files which work fine has SYMBOL=CUSIP

I haven't hade the opportunity to verify if making SYMBOL=CUSIP make all investments to work, but I will loose the capacity to auto-update prices if I do it and, of course, I don't want to.

I've checked the log file xmldump and the uniqueid is the CUSIP; so I expect FM to look the CUSIP field to identify the investment.

What can I do to have both, price and transactions updated?

Hi Flijfi,

When you retrieve transactions, the incoming transactions from the broker are matched up based on CUSIP. If you retrieve transactions, and there isn't an existing investment with a matching CUSIP, a new one would be created. So, you should get all reported distributions from your broker.

If you are retrieving prices from a quote server, the symbol is used.
