Input field for passwords

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Tom Kehrwald » Fri Jan 23, 2015 9:13 pm

Hi Mark,

In the process of working through problems retrieving transactions I discovered that there seems to be a difference in the length of passwords one can use depending on where one inputs them. In the properties ... transaction retrieval dialog the field that appears for a password is at least 18 characters. I don't like to store passwords there and prefer to type them when solicited each time. The field that appears asking for the password on the actual retrieval request seems to accept fewer characters and my password doesn't fit.

Is this right? What are FM rules for password length? I can't seem to find them in the doc.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Fund Manager allows passwords up to 63 characters long. Both of these dialogs will accept passwords this long. The dialog that prompts you at retrieve time does have a smaller edit control for entering the password, but it scrolls, so it will still accept all 63 characters.
Thanks,
Mark
