I am learning to use FM by converting my Money transactions over and came upon this "problem."
My investment account has two "cash" accounts; a regular buy/sell account and a call account where longer term cash stays, like a money market account. My problem is when moving cash using Transfer Between. Because of the cost/lot issue, the Transfer In sometimes generates a whole bunch of transactions for a single transfer. As an example, two deposits were made into the call account, lot 1 $100,000 and lot 2 $400,000. Using Transfer Between to move $300,000 generates 2 transactions, $100,000 from lot 1 and $200,000 from lot 2, in the receiving account. This gets quite confusing when reviewing/editing the Data Registry later. It is especially bad on days when several moves were made. Is it possible to have cash accounts handled differently? Or, alternately, provide an ID field to tag onto to Memo?
While on the topic of Transfer Between, the date defaults to today. Is it possible to use the last entered date? It would save a lot of typing when entering a series of transfers.
Thanks.
