Changed Investment Symbols and Import Now Creates Duplicates

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby B2B_Investing » Wed Mar 11, 2015 9:11 am

Hello Mark,

I changed the symbols of several investments that have prices, transactions, alerts, etc. I manually import the prices using the generic price import. The import has the revised Symbols so I expected the prices to load to the existing investments; however, when I import the prices, FM wants to create new investments instead. Can you shed any light on this? I thought the import matched on the SYMB?

Hi Jason,

Yes, the price import does match on the symbol. Do you maybe have an extra space character either in your FM symbol, or maybe in the importing file?
Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark,

You called it. I checked for trailing spacings on both the import file and within FM before the post; I missed that the source file had a leading space in the header.

Thanks,

Jason
