Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager
by dvn » Sat Jul 09, 2016 11:37 pm
Log information: Retrieve Starting Quote Module Version = 495 Retrieving from server: (QUANDL-HISTORICAL) Requested Historical Retrieve Dates: 1/1/2016 - 7/1/2016 Requesting: "BOE/XUDLHDD" Could not update any investments WARNING: Server used but did not update any prices: (QUANDL-HISTORICAL) I have set the API key, and can retrieve other quotes from Yahoo. I can also download the dataset from https://www.quandl.com/api/v3/datasets/BOE/XUDLHDD.csv and import. Any ideas to get the price update with Quandl-Historical server? Thanks.

Hi dvn,
I see this same problem. It seems this code is returning data in a format we weren't expecting. We'll get this fixed, and release an update soon.

Hi dvn,
Quote module 496 is now available and fixes this issue. Use "Help / Fund Manager on the Web / Check for Updates..." to obtain the update. Thanks for pointing out this problem, and let us know if this doesn't resolve the issue for you.

Hi Mark, I downloaded the new quote module 496 but still get the same message : Retrieve Starting Quote Module Version = 496 Retrieving from server: (QUANDL-HISTORICAL) Requested Historical Retrieve Dates: 6/9/2016 - 7/5/2016 Requesting: "BOE/XUDLHDD" Could not update any investments WARNING: Server used but did not update any prices: (QUANDL-HISTORICAL)
I had imported the data previously. So, do I need to delete the data file and start again?
Thanks.

Hi dvn,
No, you shouldn't have to delete any data. I just now tested retrieving this same quote, for the same dates, using the same quote module version, and it worked okay. Can you try erasing and re-entering the symbol in your investment's properties? Maybe there is some non-printable character in your symbol?
If re-entering the symbol doesn't fix it, can you try retrieving only this one investment and if it fails again take a look at your "intlog2.txt" log file, located here:
C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager\intlog2.txt
You can either email it to me, or attach it to a post. Can you also tell me if you can retrieve any other symbols from either Quandl or Quandl (Historical)? Is it just this one symbol, or all?

I just moved to portable mode and the intlog2.txt file in Logs folder says the API key is "notset".
code, message QEAx01,We could not recognize your API key: notset. Please check your API key and try again. You can find your API key under your account settings.
However, I checked Options -> Internet settings and the correct API key is shown. Also, I checked the fmprefs.txt file and it shows the correct API key set in variable 'quandlapikey'.
Same problem with any other symbol using quandl.
Possible that something to do with portable mode?
Thanks.

Hi dvn,
Yes, I think you've identified the problem. It isn't working if you're in portable mode. We will look into getting this fixed. For now, you might turn off portable mode, and let me know if that doesn't fix the problem.

Hi dvn,
We've just released quote module 497 which fixes this issue, so you can now use Quandl while in portable mode.
