Mark : I updated to the 497 module and when you try to retrieve multiple stock quotes it appears to be requesting garbage symbols. If you update a single stock then it works fine. Yahoo Historical does the same thing ( most of symbols are garbage like you slipped a bit). It would be great if there was a way to go back to a previous working module.
Hi mogul456,
What quote server are you using besides Yahoo (Historical) where you see this problem? What version of Fund Manager are you using? Yahoo (Historical) will only work with 2016.13.8 or later.
Yahoo (Historical) needed major changes, and requires 2016.14.8 to use now. You can still use Yahoo (Adjusted Historical) with FM 2014. Were you having problems with any other quote server besides this one when using quote module 497? If so, please try turning on "Options / Internet Settings... / Proxy Server /Use Windows Settings", and see if the problem persists. If it does, please let me know which server is having problems.
Mark,
I too am running 2014.13.8 and am seeing the same garbage characters flashing in place of fund symbols when trying to retrieve historical prices with 497. Does this mean we are being forced to upgrade to the 2016 version of Personal Fund Manager in order to be able to retrieve prices from the Historical Yahoo server from this date forward?
Okay, let me take a closer look at what is going on in FM 2014....
We've reverted to 496 for FM 2014. If you delete your inteng13x.dll file in your Fund Manager directory, you can then do another "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." to get the older 496 module. We will update the quote module for FM 2014 once these issues are resolved.
I apologize for the problems with the 497 quote module. It was not backwards compatible. We've fixed the problem, and released quote module 498. You can get it with "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...". It is available for both FM 2014 and FM 2016. The Yahoo (Historical) quote server will retrieve prices in both versions. If you are using a Professional or Advisor version and wish to use this server to retrieve dividends/splits you will need to be using FM 2016.14.9 or later. A description of all the changes in the quote module is available here:
