Transaction Date for Distributions.

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby aviator » Sat Apr 06, 2019 11:07 am

Hi Mark,

I'm trying to record a distribution (type account fees), but when I try to enter the transaction manually I don't get to override today's date.

For example, instead of being able to enter a transaction date, I'm instead presented with a period ending and starting date (see attached). I need to enter an account fee taken out of my account on 4/2/2019. What dates do I put in for the period ending date? Technically speaking, the period for which the fees apply ends on 4/30/2019. But if I put in the period ending date of 4/30, that becomes the transaction date (which is incorrect).

Please tell me how to enter a distribution transaction that pre-dates today.

Thanks.

Hi aviator,

For distributions in cash type investments you enter a date range, so the average share balance is used to calculate a distribution per share number. It isn't too critical, you just want to enter the end date for the transaction date, and the start date for the beginning of the period that would apply to this distribution.
Thanks,
Mark
