How to avoid impact on linked cash account

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby adrianrees » Wed Nov 04, 2020 1:44 pm

Hi

I have a cash deposit account with a third party bank i.e. not the bank where we have the linked cash account.

I have set up a new second account with the same third party bank and transferred all the funds from the initial cash deposit account into the new second account. If I do a 'buy' and 'sell' this shows as a credit and then debit through the linked cash account, which of course is incorrect since the funds didn't pass through the linked cash account.

While everything balances its a bit messy and not accurate.

is there anyway to do a transaction between the two third party bank accounts that doesn't impact the linked cash account?

Thanks

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

You can temporarily disable the "Default Cash Account" under the properties of the sub-portfolio, record your buy and sell transactions, and then re-enable the Default Cash Account.
Thanks,
Mark
