Merge Transactions for Security with Changed CUSIP's

Recently, a security I've had for several years (with dozens of transactions) has changed its CUSIP number. The ticker remains the same for both, but the name & CUSIP are different.

I now have two separate securities listed in FM, the new CUSIP shows a single, recent dividend transaction with no basis, etc., listed. The old CUSIP shows all previous transactions including purchase dates, distributions, etc.

What's the easiest way to move/merge all historic transactions, basis, etc., to the new CUSIP security and delete the old CUSIP security?

I'd recommend:

1) Change the CUSIP on your old investment with the full transaction history to the new CUSIP.
2) Close the new investment that was created with just the 1 new transaction/new CUSIP.
3) Re-retrieve transactions, and now that transaction should go into your original investment, since you've updated the CUSIP.
