Capital Gains received as Purchase or Interest

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby OttoFM » Sat Dec 18, 2021 10:02 am

Downloading from both Schwab and Vanguard - short and long term capital gain transactions are received in Fund Manager as Purchase or Interest transactions. Every holding with a capital gain has the same problem. Interest and Dividend transactions seem to come down correctly.

Hi Bob,

If you'd like us to take a look, please do this:

1) Retrieve transactions for a single account and span a date range covering the transaction in question. Retrieve with the option "Skip transactions already in FM investment" temporarily turned OFF.
2) On the Preview Importing Transactions page, make sure you see the transaction in question, and then press "Cancel", as you don't want to import duplicate transactions.
3) Email us the 2 log files at "Help / Logs / Transaction Retrieve". Send both the Raw/Parsed versions.
4) In the email, include details of what transaction we should be looking at. For example, a LT Cap Gain in Investment Y on date X.

When you retrieve again in the future, remember to turn back ON the option "Skip transactions already in FM investment" so you don't get duplicates.
Thanks,
Mark
