Manual price update same investment/ticker multiple portfol

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby tomseeley » Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:20 am

Because of how our new inv advisors invest our money, we own the same funds/etfs in four separate portfolios. When I need to adjust any one price, to make the figures match what their statements show, I need to update that fund's price 4 times.

Is there a way to update a price manually and have that adjust that fund's price on that date automatically for all my subportfolios that hold that particular fund/ticker?

Hi tomseeley,

For manually updating prices of investments with the same symbol, you have a few options:

1) If you're using the Advisor version, edit the price by symbol using "Edit / Symbol List... / Update Price...".

2) Create a text file with the data, and import it. For example, a simple text file with the format:

INTC,29.25

could be imported with "File / Import / Prices / Generic..." using the options:

Specify Date: YES, and specify the date for the price
Specify Symbol: NO
Input Format: SYMB,NAV

3) You can also retrieve prices with the "<local file>" server. See the instructions.

4) Manually update each investment's price through the dialogs, as you have been doing.
Thanks,
Mark
