Preferred Stock price update symbol

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby mayhaw9999 » Wed Aug 14, 2024 4:28 pm

I just traded one preferred stock for another of the same company. I have been unable to find the secret symbol to allow an update of the price data. As you know. preferreds have different symbols depending on who is reporting the information.
The stock is ELLINGTON FINANCIAL SERIES B 6.25% CUMUL Its symbol is EFC/PRC at Schwab - other companies use the following - EFCPRB, EFCpB, EFC.PR.B, EFC/PB, EFC PRB, EFC_pB, EFC-B.
I've tried them all except the ones with /. That is not an allowed file name.
I own EFC/PRE and recently sold EFC/PRC. They update with EFCPE or EFCPC.
Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

Are you using your web browser to look up the symbols? I don't have any special advice, other than this. Links to all the supported quote servers are available here.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
The symbols come from a service I use that lists all of the different possibilities by the company that uses them. Those are all I have found.
I don't know what server I should look at to see which one would work. I think I have updated servers every time you have sent an update, but I'll check again.

I'll keep working on this.
