Hi Mark,

Hi Cole,
I'm seeing an error also with Vanguard today. We'll have to investigate...
An update on what we've found... Vanguard is not working with Fund Manager, but still works with Quicken. Today we have submitted a request to Vanguard for help, and are awaiting a response.
Low level details: Vanguard's OFX server is responding to Fund Manager with an error message (302 Security Redirect) and re-directing to a non-working page (Location: http://www.vanguard.com/notfound.htm), thus causing FM to report a 12156 error due to the failed redirect. Comparing Fund Manager's request to the request made by Quicken they appear to be identical for everything we can observe. We most likely need Vanguard's help in identifying why their OFX server is responding this way. How you can help: If you have a Vanguard account you may contact Vanguard and let them know you'd like for them to help resolve this issue with Vanguard's OFX server not working with Fund Manager anymore. The more people that tell them, hopefully they will help us investigate.
Hi Mark,
I will put in request tomorrow. However, I have many of my client accounts are at Vanguard. We are approaching the end of the quarter and end of the year. I need to issue performance reports, reconcile accounts, record transactions for compliance. I have access to my client accounts at Vanguard and can download transactions. If the issue is not fixed before the end of the year, what is the easiest way for to enter in transactions that I have downloaded and import into Fundmanager? Thank you, Cole
Hi Cole,
Thank you. If this doesn't get fixed in time you can go to the "Download Center" on Vanguard's website. On the "Activity" tab along top there is a link to "Download center" in the upper/right of that page. For the download format, choose the "Quicken" format. Choose the date range and select the desired accounts. It will download to a .QFX file, which you can then import in Fund Manager with "File / Import / Transactions / Open Financial Exchange (*.OFX, *.QFX)". Select the file you downloaded, for all dates, all accounts, and make sure it is set to import into FM portfolio "With Matching Account Number as OFX Account". Usually you would leave on the option to skip transactions already in FM, and create new investments as needed.
Thanks Dave. Hopefully we'll hear from them early this week...
Thanks Cole, appreciate that. I'll post any updates here.
Thanks Bsrr, appreciate the help... As of now, we haven't heard anything from them.
Fyi, it's not just Fund Manager. I asked on the Boglehead forum. Same problem is affecting MoneyDance, as well as somebody's homebrew software that uses Python ofxtools.
Technical details from MoneyDance are being discussed here: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/disc ... ion/page/1
Very interesting, thanks for sharing that. It looks like the same issue being seen by FM. We still haven't heard from anyone at Vanguard. Hope they fix it soon, or contact us...
