as a seperate topic so that others who follow can search it if they too have this problem.
Though MsMoney does not have an apparant method the following works well
Reports>Investments>Price History
use Multiple Investments and Custom Dates to choose those you need
right click> export (as txt file)
copy in xl and change any formatting into required import format for FM
(nb if it is dates u get stuck on do column to txt to seperate out dd/mm/yy into constituent parts and then use =E1&"/"&F1&"/"&G1 or similar to bring them back together as mm/dd/yy)
