Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby klvassalotti » Fri Jan 29, 2010 3:14 pm

I entered two negative "Other" transactions in my cash account data register for mark-to-market adjustments on a short position. They don't appear to be reflected in the cash balance.

Is this the way I should be recording this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi klvassalotti,

If you want these to be taken out of your cash account, mark the distributions as "Reinvested". If you do not record them as reinvested, it is like you sent it a check to cover this negative distribution. If you do mark them as Reinvested, you are redeeming shares of cash to pay for this negative distribution.
Thanks,
Mark
