Hi Mark,
Because of Yahoo, now retrieving historical prices for all the portfolio at once can be very slow and may need to split the requests. When you use several historical quote servers for all the investments (most of the time I guess), you have to enter the date range to retrieve for each. But the date range pop-up for a quote server is displayed only when the retrieving is completed for the previous quote server in the queue. So you have to wait the next pop-up to enter and validate the date range in order to the retrieving process continues. Otherwise it is "stuck", waiting for the user validation.
I have only one monitor so I don't have the possibility to display FM on a dedicated one. During the retrieving process I work on other stuff so I don't monitor FM (and I don't want to). So I have to check frequently FM in order to see if it is waiting something from me and, if so, to unstuck the process. It is quite tedious. That would be nice if there could be a possibility to improve this. Either in requesting the date ranges for all the quote servers at the beginning of the process or by warning the user that a new pop-up is waiting for an action. I guess a ding would do just fine, or to push the pop-up in the foreground (in front of another active application). Or something else that would make the process more fluent.
Thanks.
