A CANADIAN version of Fund Manager

Granted, Fund Manager is a remarkable program.

However, it is annoying that Canadians must pay the same as Americans for Fund Manager when some of its most important features do not work for Canadians.

Two examples that really limit FM's usefulness:

1) Fund Manager cannot be used to interact with Canadian brokers.

2) There is no good source for Canadian mutual fund historic pricing - particularly when distributions are required - and, they ARE.

Canadians are paying for Fund Manager upgrades that involve constant tweaking for American brokers. How about a break? Sell a slightly modified version to people who pay with a Canadian-address credit card - for less.

I can understand being frustrated by not being able to use all the features in Fund Manager. On your first point, this is simply a limitation of Canadian brokers, as they do not offer the required OFX servers for the transaction retrieve. I suspect it is some Canadian law or something. We do put effort into making Fund Manager compatible with Canadian investors. If you look at all the quote servers we offer, many of them are focused primarily on Canadian quotes. If you know of a good source for historical prices with distributions for Canadian funds we'd be happy to look into it.

We do not have plans to offer a Canadian only version of Fund Manager at a discount. There are a few reasons for this. First, it is logistically more complicated to offer multiple versions. Second, from our point of view a Canadian only version may be _more_ expensive from a resource point of view when you consider the effort to support Canadian specific servers versus the number of Canadian users.
