Management Fee Calculation V10 Advisor Version

Comments, critical feedback, praise, or suggestions for new features.

Mark,

This calculation needs an option for dealing with short positions. As it is now, the short positions reduce the asset totals and the fees. Many (most?) advisors who have short positions would ADD those to the assets under management to calculate the fees (the short positions add work to managing the portfolio, not make it easier). I think you need an option here in your management fee setup.

Hi Elliot,

Excellent point, hadn't thought of that... We should be able to get an option in for this into 10.1.

Hi Elliot,

FYI. Version 10.1 will have a new option, which is ON by default:

Options / Report Preferences... / Management Fees / Use Absolute Value of Short Positions for Managed Value Calculation
Thanks,
Mark
