oop historical value incorrect

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

HI I set up my annuity as one one unit Then I added the first distribution for say 200 dollars This was fine but now the OOP historical column shows a neagative of 200 dollars I have tried a few ways to enter the distribution All with the same result How can I correct this

Hi alan,

It sounds like you recorded the cost of this 1 unit at $0, so when you received $200 as a distribution, your historical cost is -$200.

If you don't have a shares/price for the annuity, treat it like a cash investment. The price is $1 for everything, and the shares equal the value. So, if you bought a $10,000 annuity, record it for $10,000 and 10,000 shares, and a price of $1. When you receive a $200 distribution, your OOP historical cost would be $9,800 in this example.
