Graph portfolio value Gain $1???

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager graphs.

Postby david » Mon Jul 21, 2008 2:38 pm

Hi Mark
having trouble to display the Portfolio Gain for just one of the sub portfolios.
On the Portfolio Editor I can see the stock symbol with all the stats OK,updated price, # of shares current gain etc.
When I try to graph it as a Portfolio Gain it returns a $1.00??
If I choose any other option like Portfolio Value or Cost-Value the display is correct?
The selected dates are current year.
Any ideas?
thanks
David

Hi david,

Do you mean it is a flat line at $1 from the beginning of the year to today? The Portfolio Gain is the difference between the Value and Cost lines in the Portfolio Value - Cost graph.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes
it is a flat line.
that is why is so strange
If I graph Cost-Value I get the correct amounts!!!
======================================
Now this is really weird
I right click on the values for Cost and Value as I wanted to copy paste the results into this message, the values turned to 0(zero) checked the Date range that was off, put it right back to Year to date and now EVERYTHING COMPUTES CORRECT!!!!
Talking about misteries?
I thing for some reason this particular subportolio failed to register the range date for just the gain part??
Well, whatever, is now working fine.
I did this before on other subportfolios but since the totals will work I just ignored and eventually it will work itself out, may be a glitch???.
Is fine now

Hi david,

It sounds like either the date or scale was zoomed in too close. Glad it is working now.
Thanks,
Mark
