General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.
by rbarrett » Thu May 22, 2014 10:50 am
Hi,
I have my Fund Manager setup to automatically start retrieving prices at 6:30am every morning. I also have it setup to Automatically Retrieve every 5 minutes. The combination crashes Fund Manager every morning. The first retrieve results in a message "An updated Fund Manager is available, go to the home page? Y/N" dialog on top of the active Retrieving dialog. Since I am not at my computer at 6:30am this dialog goes unanswered, but the Automatic Retrieve timer is still going. When another 5 minutes passes, the Retrieve kicks off again and immediately says "Price retrieve already in progress. Please wait for existing price retrieve to complete." Every 5 minutes the dialogs compound themselves until Fund Manager crashes after an hour or two.
Are there some settings I'm missing such as "automatically download the Fund Manager updates" (without having a modal dialog box), or something similar so that I can avoid this crash everyday?
Thank you,
Ray.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the bug report. What version are you using?

Hi Ray,
Version 2014.13.1 contains a fix:
Bug fix: Prevent initiating an automatic price retrieve until the prior price retrieve completes
that should prevent this problem. Please download the current version (2014.13.2), and give that a try. Let me know if the problem persists once you've installed this new version.

No crash this morning, but then again, I don't think there was an update that would cause the dialog box that caused the problem. I'll continue to monitor as you provide updates to the Transaction and Quote modules.
Thanks,
Ray.

I think you are good to go on this one. Today there was an update and it showed the Internet Update windows behind and the Fund Update window in front and nothing else. No extra windows, no crash Thanks! Ray.
