report show n/a for subtotals and totals

My custom report produces n/a for the sub-total for ETF's, puts n/a across the bottom of the report (line for totals). All of the End % port show n/a for each investment. Other portfolios do not display n/a in these columns, and other custom reports used with this portfolio produce n/a. The report has been used for years and suddenly it produced this error. Nothing seems changed in preferences or options. Something was changed for totalling ETF's?
Hi clay c,
Do you maybe have ETFs from different currencies, and you're not displaying them adjusted to the default currency? Try turning on "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted", and see if that causes your totals to show. For more on this, see: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq_ ... encies.php
I am having the same problem as clay c although the suggested fix doesn't work in my case.
In the portfolio editor screen the program accurately provides a grand total that includes all my subportfolios (so long as I turn on the exchange rate adjustment), but when I go to do a Portfolio Performance report I get N/A at the bottom of each report where there are investments not in my "home" currency (CAD). In portfolios where all investments are only in CAD the report works fine. In portfolios where all investments are only in USD the report totals accurately in USD but I get "N/A" when I try to view it with the exchange rate adjusted. In portfolios where there is a mix of CAD and USD investments I get "N/A". I have been a longtime user of the software for appx 10 years and a lot of my investment files are from MUCH older versions of the software if that makes any difference. I note that for the newer USD investment files the end value shows as USDxx,xxx in the report whereas the older ones will still show as $xx,xxx. The Portfolio Performance report has always worked properly in every prior version of FM whether I toggled 'view exchange rate adjusted' or not. I kind of miss the ability to see the value of all investments in their native currencies in the portfolio editor screen, but I guess it's not a big deal.
Hi Daniel B,
Which column of the Portfolio Performance report is showing "N/A"? If it is for the beginning/ending value columns, turning on "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted" should enable these to show. You can also revert back to the old method that always allows summing across currencies under "Options / General Preferences... / Other / Allow Summing Values From Different Currencies". You can see why the "N/A" is showing up, by selecting "Help / Report Calculation Log...". That will explain the reason why an "N/A" is showing up. If it is in a non-value column, it may be for some different reason.
Every column showed this.
For whatever reason this did not work for me.
This works perfectly! Thanks. Resolved my issue completely.
