Hi I have one sub portfolio on my master list that I would like to be an entity on its own as it is taxed on a different basis How do I move and create a second /new master portfolio

Hi alan,
At the very top of your sub-portfolio hierarchy you can only have 1 sub-portfolio. However, you can have as much hierarchy as you want, so you can change it from something like this:

Do all of this in the Portfolio Editor. To create a new sub-portfolio under Master, right mouse click on it, and choose "New Sub-Portfolio...". To move a sub-portfolio drag it from the right list over onto the desired destination sub-portfolio on the left.
Hi Have done that Now say I want a report that only includes the top two and not the special portfolio How do I filter which portfolios will show up in the report
thanks alan now if I had two 'master' portfolios with different names and roots I could split the reports
Hi alan,
This is identical to having 2 "Master Portfolios". In your report, just report on the "Regular" sub-portfolio, to only include what is underneath it. One of the "Report Settings" is what sub-portfolio you want to report on. You can name them anything you want. So, you can do this:
