Bar Graph for Bond Ladder

I was hoping to generate a graph showing a bond ladder--specifically, each bar would represent the total accumulated value of bonds maturing each year in the future. Is there any way to accomplish that in the system or, alternatively, could that be incorporated in the future? Thank you very much for your assistance.

Thank you. Also, is there a way to subtotal bonds in the report by the year of maturity? This would at least partially solve the issue.

Hi jlcooper,

You cannot "subtotal" by maturity date, but you can "sort" by maturity date. Either the Custom report or a Bond Summary report can have the Maturity Date as a field. Once you do, use the top level "Sort / Maturity" command to sort the report by this field.

Would like to add a "cash flow ladder" report variant as well

For given period specified e.g. month, qtr, yr

show the bonds maturing as well as other income events totaled up e.g. dividend forecasted, coupon forecasted

show all interest payments and loans maturing

nett cash flow impact to portfolio projected into future

purpose would be to answer the question of which time period is going to have reinvestment risk?

do I need to rollover a loan, pay down a loan or let it mature

Thanks for the feedback. If you set up your "Investment Properties... / Income" values for your investments, you can use the "Income Schedule" report to get a list of expected future income.

Is it possible in FM 2016 (income schedule graph) to include the cash flows of future redemptions of the bonds, so you can see in which years the bonds are maturing?

Sorry, no. It only includes "Income" as specified under the "Investment Properties... / Income" tab. We can consider making it an option to include adding in the face value of bonds on their maturity date.
