So now that the latest version seems to incorporate the year - i.e. current version is 2014 - should one be anticipating a new 2015 version soon?
Are you moving to yearly versions requiring payment annually?

Hi El Wealtho,
I wouldn't expect the frequency of releases to change due to the naming change. You can see how often we've released updates in the past here: https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/modlist.html It hasn't been determined if there will be a 2015 release, or it will be a 2016 release. As before, all minor updates within a major release are free. You can use your purchased version as long as you'd like, without paying any recurring fees. Major updates require an upgrade fee if you choose to move to the new major version. We maintain/provide free updates to the quote and transaction modules for the last 2 major versions. This means that if you want to keep getting updates to the quote/transaction modules you must at least upgrade every other major version.
Aloha Mark,
I noticed after reading this post that I currently have version 2014.13.3 installed but that 2014.13.5 is the most recent. I see that FM does automatically check for and download Quote module and Transaction Module updates as they are available. Can it be configured to notify or automatically download when minor program updates are available? (It may have prompted and I just missed it, clearing the window at start up too quickly) Thanks Jason
Hello Jason,
This isn't an option currently. When you do a "Check for Updates..." the status window that comes up does display the current version, but it doesn't prompt you to download the actual program update, only quote/transaction module updates. I do think it would be good to make it more clear and easy to update when a program update is available.
Thanks Mark.
Even if it were something as simple as showing what your version is and what version is available. (Just as with the two modules when it prompts to download) I do not see a real need to have it trigger a special notice for the program only as these updates seem to be accompanied with a module update. Hi Jason,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we might just add another dialog when the main program needs updating, and provide a link to the download page, or have it open it if you press "Yes" on the dialog for example.
