Initial Deposit

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

1. I need a method to make an initial deposit to use as a starting position to start a new portfolio. I am a new to FundManager (coming off of Captool) and I am coming into FundManager with a lump sum to start purchasing new mutual funds. Therefore, I would like the Default Cash Account to have a starting balance to work from.
Thanks...

Hi dmrsmmac,

Create a new sub-portfolio, and then create a cash investment for that sub-portfolio. You would assign that new cash investment as your default cash account in the sub-portfolio. To deposit some money, just record a buy into this cash investment. All transactions/prices are kept at $1 in cash accounts.
Thanks,
Mark
