Using version 2014.13.2
One of my stocks split in 2014 1:3, then again 1:2. The 12/31/14 closing price was $4.49. The closing price 12/31/13 was 34.44. After the splits the 12/31/13 price should be 5.74. Similar pre and post split differences going back thru 2009.
The Porfolio Performance, Investment Performance and ROI Yield reports show a loss for that stock of - 80%+. Also big losses over two years, three years, etc.. (Going back three years the split adjusted price was less than the 12/31/14 price). It seems the reports are using the pre-splits prices. However, prices, at least internally to the program, were adjusted.
The Edit, All Data, and the Prices for that stock, the list of prices showing are not split adjusted. But if I try to Edit the 12/31 prices going back since I owned the stock, the split-adjusted prices pop up. But when the edit box is closed the pre-split prices show again in the Prices box. I tried deleting the 12/31 prices to reenter the correct prices, but when I do that (delete, add the correct price, close the box) the pre-split prices show up again, too.

Hi don4665,
You want to record everything as it was on the recorded date. You also need to record the split transactions as they happened. You might want to turn off "View / Split Adjusted", so you can see everything as you've recorded. If you have "View / Split Adjusted" on, it will show your data in the Data Register (and graphs) back adjusted for any recorded split transactions, but when you edit any data, you are always entering data as it happened, so you will see the un-split adjusted data. Turning off that option should help you see if something is recorded wrong. If you need to retrieve historical prices, use the "Yahoo (Historical)" server, instead of the "Yahoo (Adjusted Historical)", as the latter retrieves prices adjusted for splits, but since you are recording split transactions, you want the actual closing prices.

The View/Split adjusted resolved the problem with the view of the prices in the Data Register (Edit, All Data, Symbol, Prices), but there is still a problem with the Performance reports.
I turned off the View/Split adjusted and the Prices in the Data Register show a price of 4.49 as of 12/31/14 and for 12/31/13 5.74 (which is the split adjusted price) and for 12/31/12 8.68 (which is the split adjusted price).
I ran an Investment Performance report for just that symbol for 1/1/14 to 12/31/14. The report shows Beg Nav of 34.44 and End Nav of 4.49. %Gain shows as -80.19. I ran an Investment Report for 1/1/13 to 12/31/14 and the Beg Nav shows as 52.08 and End Nav of 4.49 The report appears to use the pre-split prices.
Also, something may be getting worse. I upgraded to version 2014.13.6. Imported transactions, just Buys, for that symbol in a test portfolio. Transactions 7/14/14 166.667 shares, 28.58 price; 12/23/13 shares 66.667, 34.05 price; 9/14/12 66.667 shares, 48.12.
I then entered a 1:3 split in the Splits in the Data Register. What came out was 7/14/14 shares 55.556, price 85.74; 12/28/13 shares 22.222 price 102.15; 9/14/12 shares 22.222, price 144.36.
Is the price suppose to triple, while the shares are reduced to 1/3?

I turned off the View/Split adjusted and the Prices in the Data Register show a price of 4.49 as of 12/31/14 and for 12/31/13 5.74 (which is the split adjusted price) and for 12/31/12 8.68 (which is the split adjusted price).
If you have "View / Split Adjusted" turned off, all your prices should be showing as their actual, non-adjusted prices. In other words they should be showing the price they actually were on each date. If your prices are showing split adjusted, then you need to retrieve or enter non-split adjusted prices. Let's take an example. Say you had a stock that was trading at $100 and you owned 15 shares as of Date 1. Later, you have a 1 for 3 split, that you record on Date 2. On dates after this you will own 5 shares, and the price will be around $300. The market value stays roughly the same (100 * 15 = 300 * 5). If you look at the data in the Data Register with "View / Split Adjusted" turned OFF, you should see the pricing of $100 on Date 1, and $300 on dates after the split. You would also see 15 shares on Date 1 and 5 shares after the split date. If you turn on "View / Split Adjusted", you will see $300 prices and 5 shares for both dates. If you still have questions, please let me know the ticker symbol in question.

I found where I went wrong. It wasn't anything to do with the splits. There was a spin-off subsequent to the splits that I failed to record. I entered the data for the spin-off using the wizard and the performance reports returns look a lot better.
Thanks!
