using Mod 480 & Win 10 -- can't retrieve stock prices

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

I got module 480 and am using Windows 10. I click on the PRC button to "retrieve - internet (yahoo)" and get the error message, "Could not update any investments." Please advise.

Hi suebrooks39887,

Are you using Fund Manager 2014.13.7? See "Help / About...".

Do you have some investments open that are marked for retrieving, and have valid symbols as shown on Yahoo? Right mouse click on an open investment and choose "Properties...". Verify the symbol is correct, and available on the quote server you're using. Also, look at the "Internet Retrieve" tab, and make sure "Retrieve Price" is checked. For more tips, see:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq ... ailure.php

If you're still having troubles updating, please let me know a sample ticker symbol that won't update.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes, using 2014.13.7, module 480.
Under Internet Retrieve Setting, Price Update Options:
Default server: Yahoo
Default history server: yahoo
persistent request - checked
proxy server - checked

Prices (ex: aapl) were downloading last week, until I downloaded Windows 10 yesterday (Sunday).

investment properties -- for aapl
internet retrieve
retrieve price -- checked
quote server: "default server"
historical server: "default server"

I changed the quote server to yahoo and the historical server to yahoo for aapl, and the price did not download.

You said proxy server was checked. Do you mean the option to "Use Windows Settings" is checked?

If you choose "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...", does that work okay?
Thanks,
Mark

Okay, please try this:

Delete all the intlog*.txt files in your folder:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager

Right mouse click on AAPL, and choose "Retrieve Selected Price". Assuming it fails with the same error message, please email me all the intlog*.txt files as an attachment to an email. I will send you an email now, so you can reply to that with the attached files.
Thanks,
Mark

I'm not finding any intlog*.txt files. I searched the whole computer for intlog* and for *.txt. How do I find it?

I attempted to retrieve selected price for aapl and "could not update"

Instead of searching, just use the File Explorer, and browse to this location:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Fund Manager

Please note, the "AppData" folder is hidden, so you'll have to turn on the display of hidden items. In Windows 10 there is an option on the toolbar for this.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi suebrooks39887,

Received the log files, thanks. Somehow FM is getting back an error message from Yahoo, saying the request was invalid. I don't see that same problem here, so I'm not sure what is wrong. I would suggest re-installing Fund Manager, and if that doesn't fix it, please give us a call. We can connect into your computer, and try and diagnose the problem.
Thanks,
Mark

No, you don't have to buy anything. Just go here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/download.html

and download/install the program. Install it right over your current installation. Do not uninstall your current program.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi suebrooks39887,

It looks like this may be a problem with Yahoo, and not related to being under Windows 10. See:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3590

You might try that solution, or wait for a while for Yahoo to resolve the problem, or switch to a different quote server.
Thanks,
Mark
