Kraft Heinz merger

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby faezandyc » Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:38 pm

I'm looking at my Ameritrade statement and I see for the Kraft Heinz merger I got some cash and they swapped KRFT one for one for KHC.

It appears that my basis remains the same and I have some cash which I think is long term gain.

How do I input this to Fund Manager?

I think I could just change the investment properties ticker to KHC and list the cash as a long term gain distribution.

Does that sound right?

Hi Andy,

Yes, that sounds like one way to record what you've described. That is probably the easiest way. Another option would be to use the "Transfer Between" wizard, and create a 2nd investment, for KHC, and remove all the shares of KRFT.
Thanks,
Mark
