1 for 2 reverse split not splitting shares in half

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby schmoe » Sat Aug 13, 2016 12:55 pm

I entered a 1 for 2 split on an ETF and the number of shares did not split exactly in half in Fund Manager as they did on my financial statement.

Is there more to a split than meets the eye? Is this a known issue?

I am using the last update of Fund Manager 2014.

Hi schmoe,

It should split exactly in half with a 1 for 2 split. Did you maybe also have another transaction in there? How are you verifying the share balance? Try using the Data Register to see all the transactions for this investment.
Thanks,
Mark

You were right. There was another transaction in there.

I was looking at Data Register and noticed the seemingly incorrect share reduction. But that was simply the result of having two transactions between the price updates.

Stupid oversight on my part.

Thanks.
