Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby fmuser » Mon Nov 06, 2017 5:19 pm

Since Yahoo price retrieval is now so slow, I tried switching to the WSJ server. It's after 7pm Eastern time, and the WSJ web pages show today's closing prices, but I only get updates in FM for individual stocks (e.g. IBM).

For example, http://quotes.wsj.com/mutualfund/VFIAX shows today's price. I confirmed that my investment file in FM is type "No-Load Mutual Fund" and the symbol is VFIAX. I get no error message from price retrieval, but none of my fund prices are updated from the WSJ server.

Any ideas?

Hi fmuser,

If you click on "All Sections" and then "Historical Prices", you'll see they haven't posted a price for 11/6 yet. The "Wall Street Journal" server only updates the last end of day price, as shown on that Historical Prices page. You might need to wait a bit longer, or if you're using the Professional version switch to "Wall Street Journal (Real-Time)", which will update whatever price is shown on that "Overview" page.
Thanks,
Mark
