Value Change

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby theobaldr » Wed Jan 17, 2018 3:28 pm

This may be covered else where, but I couldn't find it.
On Portfolio view, Value Change (price change from previous day) does not report correctly if you update prices more than once.
It appear to provide change between the two retrieved prices, when displaying the portfolio tree.
It used to update using yesterday's price and latest retrieved price.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Hi Ray,

The "Value Change" field in the Portfolio Editor list view is defined as:

change in market value of investment or sub-portfolio from yesterday to today

So, it would be the change in market value from 1/16/2018 to 1/17/2018 if you're looking at it today. You can verify by looking at an investment's value in the Data Register under the data type of "Prices". Look at the market value on 1/16 and 1/17 and the difference would be the displayed "Value Change". If you're missing a price on either 1/16 or 1/17 a price will be interpolated from the prior recorded price.

See the documentation on the list view fields.
Thanks,
Mark
